The Nevada State Society, NSDAR, consists of 18 chapters located around our great state. With nearly 1,000 members statewide, our Nevada State Society DAR has actively supported a wide variety of causes through various community service projects and events:

  • Donated school supplies to local elementary schools.
  • Sewed and donated masks to local hospitals during the Covid pandemic.
  • Donated clothes to Project 150, a local non-profit assisting homeless teens.
  • Donated hygiene gift bags to the Reno/Sparks Indian Colony.
  • Donated books to Spread the Word Nevada, a Nevada non-profit promoting literacy in Title One elementary schools.
  • Made pillowcases to donate to Shriner’s Hospital.
  • Gave monetary donations to Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center.
  • Donated toiletries to the veterans hospital.
  • Gathered wreath sponsorships for Wreaths across America.
  • Participated in Wreaths across America Wreath-Laying Ceremonies.
  • Presented Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) and DAR Youth Citizenship Awards to high school JROTC cadets.
  • Transcribed Bible and church records for the DAR’s genealogy database.
  • Donated bras to the safe house in Henderson.
  • Awarded Excellence in Historic Preservation awards at Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park.
  • Presented to the Clark County Museum Guild the Historic Preservation Recognition award.
  • Participated in Operation Paperback, collecting and donating used books to our troops throughout the world.
  • Wrote thank you notes to veterans.
  • Welcomed and honored veterans returning home from Honor Flights.
  • Presented Quilts of Valor to veterans.
  • Donated clothing to Safe Embrace, a local non-profit aiding victims of domestic violence.
  • Sent care packages to active troops overseas during the Christmas holiday.
  • Presented an NSDAR Historic Preservation Award for preserving the legacy of the USS Nevada at Pearl Harbor.
  • Donated money to Fisher House to help families of patients at the Las Vegas Veterans Home.
  • Assisted the non-profit organization Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful by clearing local roadsides of litter.
  • Maintained pollinator gardens.
  • Participated in a tree-planting dedication ceremony at the historic Nevada State Prison.
  • Hosted dinners for our Vietnam Veterans to honor their service to our country.
  • Presented scholarships to graduating high school seniors.
  • Crafted and donated tie blankets to a local Veterans Home.
  • Donated items to firefighters fighting fires that ravaged Northern Nevada.
  • Initiated a “Chow Drive” for the humane society and various pet networks.
  • Presented awards to students for their artwork, literary writings, and community service projects as part of the Junior American Citizens contests.
  • Promoted Constitution Week to local schools.
  • Presented Community Service awards to deserving local citizens.
  • Participated in Veterans Day parades.
  • Participated in Naturalization Ceremonies.
  • Participated in collecting and retiring tattered American flags.
