The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) was founded on October 11, 1890, with the purposes of historic preservation, promotion of education, and patriotic endeavors. The Nevada State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSSDAR) will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025, and currently consists of eighteen chapters throughout the state. Any woman at least 18 years of age, who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence, is eligible for membership. For Nevada membership questions, please contact our state membership chair.

The National Society accomplishes the majority of its work under a committee system. The focus of some committees includes educational programs, scholarship competitions, citizenship awards, literacy programs, lineage research, commemorative events, community service, service for veterans, historic preservation, conservation, and women’s issues just to name a few. For more information visit the NSDAR website.

Wherever your interest lies, the DAR has a program area where you can enjoy working with other women to support God, Home, and Country.
